Privacy and Safety
Nobody's contact details are published, every introduction goes through the FOLA office, and every listing carries a mark that says what was checked.
On iPhone, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, to install FOLA.
Your Contacts Stay Private
Patients, practices, locums, carers, partners and suppliers are all shown without contact details. When you send a request, it goes to the FOLA office, and the office introduces both sides on WhatsApp. That is the only point at which contact details pass.
What the Marks Mean
Every listing carries exactly one of three marks.
| Mark | What it means | What it does not mean |
|---|---|---|
| Post not confirmed | The person behind the listing has not confirmed their email yet, or it is a sample listing. | Browse it, but treat it as unconfirmed. |
| Genuine post | The person behind it entered the six digit code FOLA emailed them, so a real, reachable person sent it. | Nothing yet about qualifications. |
| Verified by FOLA | A person at FOLA also checked it against the register and the evidence supplied, and recorded the date. | Never a rating of clinical skill, and never for sale. |
How a Listing Earns Its Mark
1Confirm by code
Every request and every listing is confirmed with a six digit code sent to the sender's email. Nothing reaches FOLA without it.
2Genuine post
A confirmed listing goes on the board marked Genuine post.
3Checked by a person
A person at FOLA checks the council or company register and the evidence supplied.
4Verified by FOLA
The mark goes on. If anything material changes, or a check lapses, the mark comes off until FOLA checks again.
5Removal
A listing FOLA cannot stand behind comes off the board, including anything reported and not cleared.
Sponsored Is Never Verified
Practices can pay for placement in relevant results. Those listings always carry a Sponsored label, set apart from the mark. Payment never changes a check, and the Verified mark cannot be bought.
